You guys… I loooove a good, family surprise! & this one sat tight on my lips for dayzzz!
Mother’s day wasn’t too long ago (I’m just posting this a bit late, considering it’s almost father’s day – but hey! It’s up now right!)… Anyhow… Kim & Julie planned an absolutely precious gift for their mom!
Yes, that was my squeal of joy you just heard outside! 😉 Sometimes, I just can’t help myself.
We met at the Linden Historical Library – that beautiful, white building you see. Everyone had coordinating outfits. I love the blushes of pink! Next, we got down to the fun!
The Session Recap:
As usual, I started with a more traditional pose. Because everyone seems to expect at least one. Plus it get’s every in the mindset of being there for the camera! Then we broke into the smaller families. (Small plug – these are great for a dad’s desk! Just saying…).
Usually about this time, the kiddos start to realize this might not be worth a popsicle later. So, we mixed it up! I had these cousins all hold hands & walk towards the camera. That’s a little fun.
Then, I had them do it again – this time, walking like elephants! Wayyyy fun! Not the most flattering – but the smiles are so genuine! Which, that’s the point right!?
We did a few more things in a few more different places. Each action trying to bring out the kids’ personalities. Little L wasn’t quite in the mood for smiling. But she’s still as precious as can be! & her grandma loooved how the portraits came out anyways! I mean, grandmas adore their grandchildren!
Way to go, Kim & Julie! You two are all-star moms & couldn’t have enjoyed your families more! Also, thank you for your patience as we waited for clouds. 🙂 We can all agree that the right lighting was worth the few minutes break.
