Emily is a lover of words – like, a wordsmith. She believes everyone has a story – & everyone needs to share his/her story! I was super excited that Emily asked me to take her portrait in her cute, little, Lapeer apartment!
Her ability to write is amazing & I absolutely love her. To check her stuff out, you can find her a few different places:

Emily and I knew each other as kids. But we lost touch most of our middle school through college. Then one day, I was getting a latte in downtown Oxford… & there she was, comfortably seated at a high table with her laptop out! We ended up talking for 2 hours catching up! It was crazy – and yet super life giving at the same time!
Since I spend a lot of time in Lapeer, Michigan, we get to grab lunch – and talk creativity! Emily has such a heart for others & how they view themselves. Emily wants you to know that each of you have a story! But sometimes we doubt the validity of our stories. We don’t feel like sharing our backgrounds or beliefs. When we don’t share ourselves & doubt ourselves, we fail to recognize God’s purpose in creating us!
This can also be why photography is so important… I mean, I know I’m biased. But how often do we worry more about how we look than cherishing the memory of the moment! A picture speaks a thousand words. You need to be in portraits – it’s part of your story & your history in the making! You should care way more about showing up in pictures with your friends, family, & especially your kids – because you’re part of their lives. And you matter! A lot! Plus when you remove yourself out of self doubt, what is that teach those watching you!? (Just some rhetorical food for thought.)
Emily has some big dreams & plans in the works! And I am so happy to be her friend, encourager, portrait taker, & fellow restaurant connoisseur! 😉
